CLUB COMPETITIONS

SECTION 1 - SATURDAY 17TH APRIL 2004, 8.00AM – 10.30AM

SECTION 2 & 3 - SATURDAY 1ST MAY
2004, 8:00AM – 6:00PM
COMPETITION CONDITIONS - SECTION 1
1 Competitions are being organised by the Linx Skating Club. It will be held in the Linx Arena on Saturday 17 April 2004.
2 All competitors MUST be paid up members of the Linx Skating Club as at 29 February 2004.
3 All competitors must be amateurs as defined by the ISU rules and may only skate in the competitions for which they qualify by age and standard.
4 The Linx Committee reserve the right to withdraw competitions that are under subscribed, and to sub-divide competitions that are oversubscribed.
5 The organisers of the competitions:
a) Retain the right to refuse entry without reason assigned
b) Retain the right of decision on all matters, their decision being final.
6 QUALIFYING DATES for age and standard :-
27 March 2004
7 CLOSING DATES for entries :-
27 March 2004
8 Entry fees must accompany all entries for the competitions on both dates
and are as follows:
Winnie the Pooh – FREE
Competitions 1-11 £2.50
9 The draw for the order of skating for the competition will take place at the Linx Ice Arena on Saturday, 10 April 2004 9a.m. to 10 a.m.
10 Entry forms must be returned on or before the closing date to:-

GRADES
SECTION 1
PLEASE NOTE – Competitors can enter either Winnie the Pooh or Competition 1 but not both
WINNIE THE POOH Must be aged 5 years or under and may hold up to and including
NISA Level 1 but no higher.
COMPETITION 1 Over 5 years but under 16 years and must hold no higher than NISA
Level 1.
COMPETITION 2 Under 16 years and must hold NISA Level 2 but no higher.
COMPETITION 3 Under 16 years and must hold NISA Level 3 but no higher.
COMPETITION 4 Under 16 years and must hold NISA Level 4 but no higher.
COMPETITION 5 Under 16 years and must hold NISA Level 5 but no higher.
COMPETITION 6 Under 16 years and must hold NISA Level 6 but no higher.
COMPETITION 7 Under 16 years and must hold NISA Level 7 but no higher.
COMPETITION 8 Under 16 years and must hold NISA Level 8 but no higher.
COMPETITION 9 Under 16 years and must hold NISA Level 9 but no higher.
COMPETITION 10 Under 16 years and must hold NISA Level 10 but no higher.
COMPETITION 11 Under 16 years and be no higher than NISA Level 10.
NOTES:
1 Criteria for entry to above competitions – see following sheet.
2 Depending on the number of entries, the above competitions may be subject
to heats.
WINNIE THE POOH COMPETITION
Skate forward across the rink without pausing or falling over showing correct posture and position.
COMPETITIONS 1-11 (LEVELS)
1 · Sit and stand on the ice
· Moving forward (basic skating)
· Two-foot glide and dip
· Stepping around on the spot
2 · Moving backward
· ½ Snowplough or full snowplough stop
· Forward skating
· Two-foot glide on a curve
3 · Forward one-foot glide (straight line)
· Two-foot jump skating forward
· Forward and backward sculling
· One-foot glide on a curve – inside edge (Left and right)
4 · One-foot glide on a curve – outside edge (left and right)
· Backward skating and a two-foot glide
· Skating forward and turning to backward (vice versa)
· Continuous forward Chasses around a circle
5 · Forward crossovers in both directors
· Backward snowplough stop
· Backward one-foot glide
· Two-foot spin (one revolution)
6 · Continuous backward chasses around circle
· Forward two-foot slalom
· Forward Outside 3-turn
· Backward skating – stepping forward in both directions
7 · Backward crossovers in both directions
· Forward inside three-turn
· Continuous Forward outside curves
· Continuous forward inside curves
8 · Forward inside Mohawk (left and right)
· Two backward crossovers followed by sustained backward outside curve
for a count of 3
· Two foot change on edge on a large curve
· Forward drag
9 · Forward beginner cross-rolls
· Bunny hop
· Backward edges (both feet and both edges)
· Two backward crossovers followed by sustained backward inside curve
for a count of 3
10 · Forward Crossovers in a figure eight pattern
· Backward crossovers in a figure eight pattern
· Two-glide in a spiralling curve
· Simple step sequence
COMPETITION 11 A & B (SPIN, SPIRAL & JUMP)
11A Spin, Spiral & Jump. No linking steps
· Competitors to perform one spin, one spiral and one jump.
· Level 1 to level 5
11 B Spin, Spiral & Jump. Plus steps and other linking movements *
· Competitors will be required to perform a mini programme without music.
· Programme to include one spin, one spiral and one jump plus steps and
other linking movements
· Level 6 to level 10 and Star Awards.
* please note entering this competition eliminates you from entering the Free
Skating Beginners competition on 1 May 2004.

FREE SKATING & EXHIBITION COMPETITIONS
SECTION 2
Competitions 2.1 to 2.16
2.1 Free Skating – Beginners *
· No minimum standard.
· Must not hold any of level 1 as at 27 March 2004
· 1.30 minute programme
· Only single jumps allowed. No axels, combinations or sequences permitted
* May be separated by age if numbers dictate.
2.2 Free Skating – Level 1
· Must hold any part of level 1 but no part of level 2 elements or free
as at 27 March 2004
· 1.30 minute programme
· Only single jumps allowed – no axels. Combinations and sequences
permitted up to a maximum of 3
2.3 Free Skating – Level 2
· Must hold any part of level 2 but no part of level 3 elements or free
as at 27 March 2004
· 1.30 minute programme
· No double jumps allowed. Single axels and a maximum of 3 combinations
and/or sequences with single jumps including axels permitted.
2.4 Free Skating – Level 3
· Must hold any part of level 3 but no part of level 4 elements or free
as at 27 March 2004
· 1.30 minute programme
· No double jumps allowed. Single axels and a maximum of 3 combinations
and/or sequences with single jumps including axels permitted.
2.5 Free Skating – Level 4
· Must hold any part of level 4 but no part of level 5 elements or free
as at 27 March 2004
· 2 minute programme
· Well balanced programme with variety of jumps and spins. Any jumps
permitted but minimum of 1 and maximum of 3 combination and/or sequences permitted.
2.6 Free Skating – Level 5
· Must hold any part of level 5 but no part of level 6 elements or free
as at 27 March 2004
· 2 minute programme
· Well balanced programme with variety of jumps and spins. Any jumps
permitted but minimum of 1 and maximum of 3 combination and/or sequences permitted
2.7 Free Skating – Level 6

· Must have passed level 7 standard compulsory dance test but no higher
